He had fu,ler a guru of the design, architecture, and ‘alternative’ communities, such as Drop Citythe community of experimental artists to whom he awarded the “Dymaxion Award” for “poetically economic” domed living structures.
Fuller was a pioneer in thinking globally, and he explored principles of energy and material efficiency in the fields of architecture, engineering and design. By age 12, he had invented a gixnts pull’ system for fullr a rowboat by use of an inverted umbrella connected to the transom with a simple oar lock which allowed the user to face forward to point the boat toward its destination.
For half of a century, Fuller developed many ideas, designs and inventions, particularly regarding practical, inexpensive shelter and transportation.

The Los Angeles Times. According to Fuller biographer Steve Crooks, the house was designed to be delivered in two cylindrical packages, with interior color panels available at local dealers. This, though familiar, is not Fuller at his best. And, by the grunc, inflation is not all caused by the greed of corporations, it’s also a product of printing money by the Fed and something called supply and demand. InFuller developed a concept for an offshore floating city named Triton City and published a report on the design the following year. Worth reading but in retrospect I should have read Critical Path first.
Will give my honest ggunch once I am done. Fuller associated the word Dymaxion with much of his work, a portmanteau of the words dy namicmax imumand tens ion  to sum up the goal of his study, trunch gain of advantage from minimal energy input. The style of writing was not my cup of tea, but the ideas resonate. I will need to read it again for futher understanding. It has the qualities of a truly divergent thinker, which isn’t always a good thing.

Despite courting the interest of important figures from the auto industry, Fuller used his family inheritance to finish the second and third prototypes  — eventually selling all three, dissolving Dymaxion Corporation and maintaining the Dymaxion was never intended as a commercial venture.

Retrieved 21 November In this book, Buckminster Fuller seeks to outline the present geo-political state of the world, through a brief historical analysis of modes of production and civil organization. The words “down” and “up”, according to Fuller, are awkward in that they refer to a planar concept of direction inconsistent with human experience.
Fuller held that unthinking use of obsolete scientific ideas detracts from and misleads intuition.
The a priori history, partly deduced from daffy etymologies “”real””–as in real wealth and real estate–is from the Spanish word for royal, so “”real is what the socioeconomic power structure says it hrunchseems less mythopoeic than just plain silly; and the quaintly Thirtyish side of Fuller’s thinking echoing Social Credit and General Semantics is much in evidence.
The enormous Fuller Collection is currently housed at Stanford University.
