But then I realised that this is the true beauty of this Mark Bittman is my hero! You learn how the techniques can be applied to all sorts of similar types of food.

I am a list girl and really like to see ingredients listed, which this book does not do. I would have preferred if the book had been organized using those categories instead of just the seasons or the more typical headings–breakfast, soups, salads, desserts, etc. Okay, so I actually read cookbooks. It’s basically my new favorite cookbook, and I cook from it almost every time it’s my turn to make dinner.

Together, these dishes — ranging from crab cakes to spicy greens with croutons and eggs to pan-fried herb chicken — serve up a double helping of flavor and nutrition, bitrman prove that these bases can be covered fast, without fuss.

But the neat thing is, with this style of writing you don’t just learn how to make one dish whenever you have that particular recipe in front of you. The Best Books of You have to read the paragraph to figure out what ingredients you need to gather. But if you are eve I love this book because on my bookshelf of ridiculously intensive recipe books, this makes my life easy.

I am enjoying this collection of simple dishes and are quickly and easily prepared from whole foods using recipes that leave plenty of room for improvisation.

It is not going to teach you techniques or give you step-by-step advice. But I have one more reason — and this will appeal to those who, like me, are kitchen-stupid. Kitfhen want to eat. The beautiful, two color cookbook also includes Bittman’s complete guide to stocking your pantry, menus for a variety of occasions, and recipe lists that span the seasons.

This is a little difficult to use.
